House Night with Bishop Cupich

On October 7th, Bishop Blase Cupich joined the Bishop White community for his first House Night as the bishop of Spokane. He was the principal celebrant of the mass for the memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary. During the following social and dinner, the seminarians had the opportunity to introduce themselves to the new leader of the diocese. Bishop Cupich gave a talk during the house night conference, in which he extolled the seminarians to perform a regular “examination of consciousness” in order to more fully unite themselves to God and be open to the tasks he has called them to do. The humility and grace with which Bishop Cupich has approached his new office were made clearly apparent throughout the evening.

In the coming weeks, Bishop Cupich will be able to personally meet with his undergraduate and pre-theology seminarians at Bishop White. Meanwhile, his smooth transition into the diocese continues.
