Conference: Reflections on Theotokos

This past Thursday, Bishop White Seminary began its spring semester series of house night conferences with a most intellectually stimulating presentation by Dr. Catherine Tkacz. Dr. Tkacz was recently appointed as the research associate of the seminary.

The conference focused on the theological and salvific implications behind the Eastern Church Marian title Theotokos, which literally translates as “birth of God.” Dr. Tkacz used insights from the modern biological sciences to illustrate how God may have used the Incarnation, especially during the months of Jesus being intimately united to the Virgin in her womb, to initiate the sanctification of men and women.
